Jiba, Mrwebi struck from roll of advocates

The General Council of the Bar on Thursday confirmed that the Deputy National Director of Public Prosecutions, Nomgcobo Jiba, and the Special Director of Public Prosecutions, Lawrence Mrwebi, have been struck off the roll of advocates.
"The judgement in the Jiba application has been handed down and Ms Jiba and MR Mrwebi has been struck off the roll of advocates," chairperson of the council Jeremy Muller said.
The council brought the application in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria against the controversial high-ranking National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) employees.
Jiba and Mrwebi have been criticised for the way in which they handled cases against crime intelligence boss, Richard Mdluli, and Hawks boss in KwaZulu Natal, Johan Booysen.
Meanwhile, the NPA said they noted the judgement, but will not comment at this stage.
