Protesters gather as Gordhan gets ready to deliver medium term budget speech
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Various groups have started to gather for protests in front of Parliament ahead of Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan's half-year budget.

Students say they will especially listen out for any announcement about additional funding for higher education.
Hussein Suleman from the UCT Academics Union says they are there to highlight the underfunding of universities.
"We think the underfunding of universities is the root cause of the problems that we have at our universities today. We are asking government to increase the funding to universities urgently," says Suleman.
Police are maintaining a strong presence.
