Third day of violent protests in Tshwane
Updated | By MornéJK
Incidents of looting have been reported in the Mabopane area of Tshwane on Tuesday night with roads that are still barricaded in areas.

The minister of defence on Tuesday called for an end to the violence that erupted after the ANC announced Thoko Didiza as their mayoral candidate for Tshwane in the upcoming elections.
Violence broke out in various parts in and around the capital city, Pretoria, including Mabopane, Hammanskraal, Atteridgeville, Mamelodi as well as the CBD.
The Pretoria CBD was a ghost town late on Tuesday with shops and businesses closing their doors out of fear of looting.

The Tswhane University of Technology also postponed some of its exams as students were unable to get to class due to road closures.
Some hospitals have also suffered a staff shortage due to the same reason.

The health department's Steve Mabona says emergency services have also been affected as they can't attend to calls due to roads being barricaded.
"The protests are hampering our services and we can't get to patients as a result of the violence," Mabona said.
