Wits students march to Cosatu House
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Hundreds of students gathered at the University of Witwatersrand's (Wits) education campus on Friday afternoon to march to Cosatu House as part of their call for free education.

According to protesting students, their call for free, quality higher education is not just a student struggle.
Students at several universities took to the streets this week following the announcement by Higher Education and Training Minister Blade Nzimande that institutions will determine their own fee increments for the 2017 academic year.
Former Wits Student Representative Council (SRC) president, Shaeera Kalla said they are no longer interested in discussing fees.
"Student leadership has proven and has shown that they are not interested in a question around fee increments. That ship has sailed. We are now clear that we are not even negotiating about fee increments. Our struggle was never about a fee increments. It was about free and quality education and that is the struggle we are fighting now," she said.
