Country star Morgan Wallen has allegedly decided not to submit his hit album, 'I'm the Problem', for Grammy consideration.

The 37-track album was released in May 2025 and spent 11 nonconsecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart. It's on track to spend a 12th week at #1.

Several songs from the album reached the top 10 in America, including 'What I Want' featuring Tate McRae, which peaked at #1

According to Hits Daily Double, there's no bitterness behind Wallen's decision not to submit his album and the songs he co-wrote.

“The Academy’s gatekeepers, you’ll recall, have never been particularly receptive to Wallen, though those who ought to know tell us there was no rancour in the decision, which they described as a measured ‘No, thank you.’”

Wallen was nominated for two Grammys at the 67th annual awards. He did not win any trophies.

Billboard adds that Wallen does not want to be considered for any Grammy categories, including best country solo performance.

The singer's team has not commented publicly about the decision.

Social media users, however, had a lot to say. Some are thrilled that Wallen has seemingly shunned the Recording Academy.

“Can you blame him. It’s a fixed award show. And no way the #GRAMMYs were going to let him win,” one X user remarked.

Another user added, “Good on him!! Like many others have already stated, the Grammys are rigged and irrelevant.”

Some of Wallen's fans have urged him to reconsider the decision, noting that ‘I'm the Problem’ stands a good chance in one particular category.

"I hope he submits it. Regarding the new category on contemporary country album, his album has a great chance this year, and I haven’t heard any contemporary country album that could beat ‘I'm the Problem’ this year. I think the production on this album is relatively very solid, smooth."

Recording Academy officials announced in June that they will add a new category to the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, ‘Best Traditional Country Album’.

'Best Country Album' will be renamed ‘Best Contemporary Country Album’.

Many speculated that the decision was in response to backlash over Beyoncé's 'Cowboy Carter' album winning 'Best Country Album' at the 2025 ceremony.

The music superstar also won 'Album of the Year'.

"The Academy's top priority is to represent the music people that we serve each year," Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, said in a statement about the changes.

"That entails listening carefully to our members to make sure our rules and guidelines reflect today’s music and allow us to accurately recognise as many deserving creators as possible. As we kick off another exciting GRAMMY Season, we look forward to celebrating the amazing power of music and its ability to bring so many people together."

The 2026 Grammys will occur in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 1.

Wallen's 'What I Want' is currently at #2 on the Top 40 with Danny Painter.
