'Harry Potter' TV series: HBO shares first character picture
Updated | By Entertainment Reporter
Let the magic begin! Here's a first look at what Dominic McLaughlin looks like as Harry Potter.

HBO Max has shared the first picture from the set of the new 'Harry Potter' TV series.
The streaming platform announced the cast for the reboot in May, with Dominic McLaughlin set to play the new Harry Potter.
Arabella Stanton was cast as Hermione Granger while Alastair Stout will play Ron Weasley.
HBO Max released the first picture of 11-year-old McLaughlin dressed in character. He is wearing a Hogwarts uniform and Potter's famous round glasses.
"First-years, step forward. The HBO Original Harry Potter series is now in production."
The young actor has big shoes to fill, as many fans still see Daniel Radcliffe as the one and only Harry Potter.
Radcliffe starred in all eight 'Harry Potter' movies alongside fellow British actors Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley).
The trio gained worldwide fame in 2001 when Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was released. The film series is based on books by J.K. Rowling.
Many 'Harry Potter' fans have already stated that a reboot isn't necessary, but some are excited to see what the next chapter brings.
Some say McLaughlin looks more like the boy on the book's cover art than Radcliffe.
One fan commented on HBO Max's post, "He looks EXACTLY like the cover art, Harry. He is adorable! Good luck to him, and please remember to be kind as he steps into big shoes. He’s got this."
Another Potterhead wrote, "Great uniforms, realistic scar, iconic glasses—let’s hope you keep the book accurate!"
The new TV series will air in 2027.
HBO Max later shared a post showing Nick Frost as Hagrid.
"Everyone ready? ‘ere we go! Nick Frost has walked his first day in the big boots of Hagrid on the set of the new HBO Original Harry Potter series."
