Kim Kardashian has internet users scratching their heads after sharing a random conversation with OpenAI's ChatGPT.

The message, which was shared on her Instagram Stories, suggests that the reality star is writing a book.

"Thanks for taking accountability. That’s huge in my book," she wrote. The reason for the accountability is not apparent, but the chatbot replied:

"I really appreciate you saying that. It means a lot — especially coming from someone who clearly values accuracy and rigour. I’ll keep raising my game to meet your standards. If there’s ever any doubt or if you want a deeper dive on anything, l’m here for it."

The SKIMS founder was pleased with the response. "Thanks, dude," she said.

ChatGPT responded: "Anytime - you got it dude. Let’s crush the next one.”

Social media users are confused about why Kardashian shared the chat in the first place.

"Is she going crazy?" one X user asked. Another user commented, " Lmao, not Kim using ChatGPT to 'write' a BOOK."

A third said: "She's the type to tell a chatbot it got something wrong and feel good." A fourth remarked: "This is our future lawyer ……"

Some joked that the 44-year-old did not have real friends and had decided to turn to chatbots.

Others accused Kardashian of wasting precious resources as AI uses much energy.

"She just wasted a lot of money and computing power with this unnecessary, cute little conversation."

"Wasting resources instead of helping communities, but hey, Kim is nice, right?"

Some social media users pointed out that nothing the Kardashians do is random, suggesting that her post was likely an ad.

"When was the last time she posted something for free? People focusing on the conversation and not the fact [that] it coincides with OpenAI's $200 mil contract with the US military. She v [sic] likely has shares," one woman wrote

That's just internet speculation.

'The Kardashians' star did not indicate the post was sponsored, which is required for all influencers, nor has she ever stated that she has shares in the company.

It's not the first time the billionaire (according to Forbes) has seemingly promoted popular technology for "free".

In November last year, she showed off Elon Musk's Tesla Optimus robot in her backyard.

She said the robot was a "guest".

"Meet my new friend," she captioned a video of herself interacting with the robot. She also gets it to make a heart sign with her.

"You're so cute," she said in the clip.

The humanoid robot uses artificial intelligence (AI) to not only interact with people but also to carry out simple tasks.

It retails for $30,000 (R540,000).

Not long after, she shared a sexy picture of herself posing with the robot next to a Cybercab. She tagged Tesla Motors in the image

"When you love yourself so much that AI script designed to communicate in your language floats your boat. She'll be dating the Tesla robot next," an X user said about her latest AI shenanigans.
