Lana Del Rey's upcoming country-inspired album has a new title and release date.

The album was initially called 'Lasso', but has been renamed 'Stove'. She hopes to debut her new project in January 2026.

Del Rey shared new details about the album in a new interview with W magazine. The 40-year-old added six extra songs, which pushed back its release date.

"They were more autobiographical than I thought, and that took more time,” she told the publication.

“The majority of the album will have a country flair. Eight years ago, when I was looking to make a country record, no one else was thinking about country. Now everyone is going country! I’ve asked myself, should I retire all my snakeskin boots? Should I put my cowboy hats in storage?”

Several artists, including Beyoncé and Post Malone, have released country albums in recent years.

Beyoncé's 'Cowboy Carter' won 'Best Country Album' and 'Album of the Year' at the 2025 Grammys.

Del Rey, whose real name is Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, originally planned to release her album in 2024.

In 2023, she spent time in Nashville, the capital of country music, working on songs for the album. The 'Video Games' hitmaker collaborated with country producer Luke Laird

He has written songs for Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton and Rodney Atkins.

The first day Del Rey met Laird, they recorded 'Henry, Come One'. The song, which is the album's lead single, was released in April 2025.

"Her talent blows me away," Laird said about working with the Grammy Award winner.

While the album was initially meant to be a country project, it also has a Southern goth feel, which is evident in 'Henry, Come On'.

Del Rey also spoke to W about her relationship with her husband, Jeremy Dufrene. She married the alligator tour guide in September last year in her hometown of Louisiana.

Del Rey wrote a song for him, 'Stars Fell on Alabama', which she performs at some of her shows.

They first met in 2019 when she signed up for one of his boat excursions, but things only turned romantic when they reconnected years later.

They kept their relationship under wraps until a month before the wedding.

"When we met, I realised pretty immediately that I loved him, but that it might get difficult because of what I was bringing to the table.

"Jeremy said, ‘I work with alligators—I have tough skin.’ And he is a man of his word. All the things that made me upset—and there were so many!—he would just listen and say, ‘You be you—and I’ll just love you more.’ she said.

Del Rey revealed that Dufrene sometimes swims with the alligators.

"I was nervous at first, but Louisiana has nicer alligators than Florida. Jeremy swims with the alligators! I swim in the bayou also, and the alligators are there, but I don’t swim alone."
