Nicole Scherzinger wins first ever Tony: 'Don't give up'
The Pussycat Dolls singer made her Broadway debut in 'Sunset Blvd'.
Nicole Scherzinger is officially a Tony Award winner.
The 46-year-old won the 'Best Actress' trophy for her leading role in the Broadway musical, 'Sunset Blvd.'.
She was nominated alongside Megan Hilty ('Death Becomes Her'), Jasmine Amy Rogers ('BOOP! The Musical'), Jennifer Simard ('Death Becomes Her'), and six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald ('Gypsy').
Oprah Winfrey presented the 'Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical' award to an emotional Scherzinger.
The Pussycat Dolls star gave an inspiring acceptance speech.
"First of all, I just have to thank God for carrying me every step of the way. I give you all the glory," she said while fighting back tears.
Scherzinger encouraged people not to give up on their dreams.
"Growing up, I always felt like I didn't belong, but you all have made me feel like I belong, and I have come home at last.
"If there is anyone out there who feels like they don't belong or your time hasn't come, don't give up. Just keep on giving and giving because the world needs your love and your light now more than ever. This is a testament that love always wins," she concluded.

Other big winners on the night included Cole Escola ('Oh, Mary!') and Sarah Snook, ('The Picture of Dorian Gray'), who won in the 'Play' category.
Darren Criss ('Maybe Happy Ending'), Francis Jue ('Yellow Face'), Kara Young ('Purpose'), Jak Malone ('Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical'), and Natalie Venetia Belcon ('Buena Vista Social Club').
'Maybe Happy Ending' was awarded 'Best Musical', 'Purpose' received 'Best Play', and 'Sunset Blvd.' took home 'Best Revival of a Musical'.
'Eureka Day' came out tops in the 'Best Revival of a Play' category.
