Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has shared an exciting update about her upcoming debut solo album.

The 'Black Magic' singer has announced that ‘Perrie’ will debut in September.

“I can’t believe this day has arrived! It feels like a dream. My debut album ‘Perrie’ will be all yours on the 26th September!”

The 32-year-old, who now goes by her first name, launched her solo career in 2024 with the release of her single, 'Forget About Us'.

Since then, she has released several other solo songs, including 'Tears', 'You Go Your Way', and 'Me, Myself & You'.

Her latest single, 'If He Wanted To He Would,' premieres on Friday, August 22.

The country-pop song, which is about a toxic relationship, gives fans a taste of what to expect on her album.

Speaking to Rolling Stone UK, Perrie reveals that she changed the direction of her album late last year because she didn't like some of the music she was putting out.

She decided to take a step back and started recording new music in 2025. The English singer calls ‘If He Wanted To He Would’ her comeback song.

“I’m so excited to come back with this track. I feel like the time I took away was very much needed and this song is the most confident I’ve felt releasing a song so far,” she said about '.

“I took some time away and I got my s**t together and thought about what I wanted to be as a solo artist. What do I want my songs to sound like? I know I feel the best I’ve ever felt because I just took the pressure off and enjoyed it and found that creativity and love for it again.”

Perrie told the publication that she scrapped some of the songs she originally recorded for her album last year.

The album now has more songs that she wrote herself.

“Originally, the majority of it was written for me and I probably wrote five or six songs on the album. Now I’d say there’s probably four or five that I haven’t written and the majority is by me,” she said.

“It’s definitely flipped. Some of the songs have obviously come across from the first draft. There’s a huge ballad on there which is the first song I ever recorded as a solo artist and I still love that song so much. I’m really proud of this first song and the album – I’m glad I stuck to my guns.”

Her Little Mix group member, Jade Thirlwall, will also release her debut solo album in September.

'That’s Showbiz Baby!' will drop on September 12.

Perrie says she loves seeing her fellow Little Mix stars Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock succeed as solo artists.

“Our relationship is as deep as the ocean and when I see the girls doing well, I’m their biggest cheerleader. I love that, I want to see them happy. I want to see them successful.”
