Rachel Zoe urges women to be financially independent

The recently separated mom of two says it is essential for women to be independent, financially and socially.

Fashion mogul Rachel Zoe has a strong message for women: Don't ever lose your financial freedom.
The 53-year-old announced her divorce from her estranged husband, Rodger Berman, in 2024 after 26 years of marriage.
Zoe told Us Weekly she has been living her best life since parting ways with her ex.
She wants women to find their own sense of fulfilment.
"As a woman in business and a mother, I will scream at the top of Mount Everest if I have to [about] how important it is for women to have their own independence, financially and socially,” she told the publication.
'The Rachel Zoe Project' reality star adds that women must be able to stand independently, no matter what.
"No matter how in love they are [or] how great their life is. If you can stand on your own, then you’re in a position of strength no matter what happens.”

The 'Climbing in Heels' podcast host says no one knows what the future holds and its best to financially secure whether you are single or married.
"You don’t just work till you get married. It is really, really important for a million and one reasons. You never know what’s going to happen in your life. No one has a crystal ball. I think for a mom or anyone going through [a divorce], I think you have to find the light in the darkness.”
Zoe and Berman have two children together, Skyler and Kaius. They reportedly have a healthy co-parenting relationship.
"My kids are amazing, and that's all that matters. I mom so hard that I don't take my eye off them. So they're happy. I think that's making everything okay," she told E! News shortly after their separation in September.
The fashion designer also opened up about how her children are doing post-divorce in a sweet Mother's Day post.
"Motherhood in all of its many forms is an experience unlike anything imaginable. Reliving life through the eyes of my boys has been the most beautiful experience of my life. Showing up for our children regardless of what we are going through is considered one of the greatest challenges as a parent and yet they can be the greatest healers and teachers for us without even trying.
"This past year has left me in absolute awe of my children and how they move through life with unconditional love and without judgement. The boundless strength and support they have shown me is extraordinary. My heart is so completely full," she wrote on Instagram.
