‘The River’ nominated for an Emmy

1Magic's "The River" has been nominated for an International Emmy in the Best Telenovela category.

The show's producers Tshedza Pictures announced the news on Instagram on Thursday.
"We’ve been nominated!!!!!! From thousands and thousands of submissions from around the world, this is the final list, dear South Africans!"

The River has an all-star cast, including the likes of Sindi Dlathu, Hlomla Dandala, Lawrence Maleka and Presley Chweneyagae.

It will go up against other telenovelas from Argentina, Colombia and Portugal.
The show follows the lives of the Dlamini's and the Mokoena's, two families who are brought together by the discovery of a diamond.
In March the show bagged four awards at the Saftas; Best Telenovela, Best Supporting Actor, Best Actor and Best Actress in a Telenovela.
