SAFTAs 2017: The Fashion

Fashion has become a highlight at the annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) with stars glamming up in their finest suits and ball gowns.

This year African influence was clearly visible on the SAFTAs red carpet with actors, celebrities and filmmakers who chose local designs.
There was a clear theme on the red carpet this year and while the fashion sense was on par with international trends, designers put local flavor into their designs with a strong focus on “a pop of colour.”
Media personality, Anele Mdoda nailed her red carpet look while red carpet Queen, Bonang Matheba also shined bright in her nude creation.
But heads turned as entertainer extraordinaire, Somizi Mhlongo, who also hosted the red carpet event, glided into the room sporting an African influenced kaftan-like outfit.
