Colombian singer Shakira will donate a portion of her recent concert to victims of the deadly floods in Texas.

At least 82 people died, with scores more missing, after flash flooding washed away homes and destroyed buildings north of San Antonio on Friday.

Twenty-eight children, some as young as eight-years-old, are among those who lost their lives.

Some of the victims were attending an all-girls summer camp located near a riverside. Camp Mystic co-owner Dick Eastland was found dead after trying to help some of the campers.

Ten girls and a camp counsellor are reportedly still missing.

During her performance in downtown San Antonio, Shakira paid tribute to the victims.

"San Antonio, my heart is with you," she captioned a picture from the show on Instagram.

In a separate post shared on X,  the 'Waka Waka' singer revealed that she will donate money to the Catholic Charities of San Antonio.

She wrote, "Dear San Antonio, Our hearts and prayers are with those affected by the flood in Central Texas. "

"We are donating a portion of tonight’s show proceeds to Catholic Charities of San Antonio, who are providing disaster relief to the families impacted. If you would like to join me in donating, please click on the link below. Your help is important and appreciated."

Social media users praised Shakira for her kind gesture.

"You are a wonderful person, an angel of goodness for the world. I am proud of you, Shakira," one X user commented.

Another said: "Hips don't lie, and neither does this kind of genuine generosity. Good on you for channeling those San Antonio concert proceeds to Catholic Charities for the flood relief. Even Central Texas floods can't wash away that kind of good deed."
