The Voice SA: Matric student wows SA
Updated | By MornéJK
The biggest surprise of last night's round of blind auditions was when 18-year-old John-James Janse van Rensburg took to the stage with a Meghan Trainor hit.

John-James , who is currently a matric student in the small town of Carltonville, stunned all four of the coaches with his version of "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" receiving a standing ovation from all of them.
"My heart skipped a beat when I heard you sing. You took my breath away," Karen Zoid gushed.
Lira and Kahn also gave John James the highest praise for his calm, soothing performance but it was Bobby who told him to go with his heart when it came to choosing between the four coaches.

Coach Bobby also added gravelly-voiced Alex Cavan from Port Elizabeth to his team.
Alex sang a stripped down acoustic version of the nineties R&B classic by Blackstreet, "No Diggity", a surprising choice but one that Bobby appreciated. Coach Kahn lamented not turning for Alex once the song was over, but that suited Bobby just fine. "I'm honoured to have you on my team," Bobby told Alex.
