11-year-old kills sister, turns gun on himself
Police in KwaZulu-Natal are investigating a case of murder after two children died from wounds inflicted by their father's gun.
An 11-year-old boy allegedly shot and killed his two-year-old sister before turning the gun on himself on Sunday.
Provincial police spokesperson Thembeka Mbhele says the father's culpability is the subject of an investigation.
"We are in an early stage of the investigation. The investigation is going to suggest what charges are laid against the father."
The inquest is set to determine whether the father acted negligently.
"The victim was taken to hospital for medical attention where she later died. The brother allegedly turned the gun on himself after seeing what had happened to his sister."
