The Hawks revealed on Sunday that the unit had arrested 115 suspects in connection with cash-in transit heists in the 2024/25 financial year.

The National Head of Hawks, Lieutenant General Godfrey Lebeya, addressed the media on the unit's progress.
Lebeya said during the second quarter of the financial year, 58 cash-in-transit cases were reported to the directorate.
A total number of 49 suspects, including 15 who died during police shootouts, were arrested.
“Over and above 66 suspects were arrested in CIT cases, making a total number of one hundred and fifteen arrests for cash in transit robberies and related cases,” Lebeya said.
Lebiya said there had been 43 convictions.
Six of the convicts were handed life sentences and a combined period of nine hundred and thirty-one years imprisonment.
