30 Gauteng schools reach capacity
A total of 35 schools in Gauteng have been filled to capacity after receiving over 1000 applications in the second week of the online admission for grades 1 and 8.
The education department in the province has processed a total number of 459 608 applications since the process started.
Spokesperson Steve Mabona says there are around 100 000 spaces remaining for both grades 1 and 8 applicants.
"Parents are reminded to submit necessary documents to all schools, within seven working days, after applying. Schools must not compel parents to fill in administrative forms, or require some supporting documents before accepting their documents, during the application period."
The application period ends on July 22 where after the placement period will begin on August 30 until the end of September.
