AA: Mixed fuel picture for February
Updated | By Thabo Tshabalala
The Automobile Association (AA) says on current data petrol is expected to increase in February, while diesel and paraffin will be slightly cheaper.

The AA was commenting on unaudited month end fuel price data released by the Central Energy Fund.
The AA's Layton Beard says petrol is set to increase by eight cents a litre, while diesel drops by three cents and paraffin by nine cents respectively.

The reason for the slight price adjustments is a stronger rand against the US dollar, which offsets a higher international oil price.
"The difference in the price changes relates mainly to the differences in the international product prices of diesel and petrol.”
Beard says the rand’s recent relative strength against the US dollar hopefully points to a period of stability for the beleaguered local currency.
"If international oil prices continue their current stable trend, South African fuel users may see fewer of the wild swings in fuel prices which characterised most of last year."
