AA predicts double-whammy fuel price hike for April
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The Automobile Association (AA) of South Africa predicts another fuel increase
for April.

Partnered with a rise in fuel levies, this promises to be a double-whammy for consumers.
AA spokesperson, Layton Beard says the basic fuel price increase is being billed as 98 cents for petrol, 70 cents for diesel, and 63 cents for paraffin. The expected increase is due to a rise in petroleum prices and the weakening of the rand.

However, Beard says the price will increase even further due to the increases in fuel levies, which was announced by Finance Minister Tito Mboweni in February.
When the fuel levy increase comes into effect in April, a further 20 cents will be added to the price of every litre of fuel (15 cents for the fuel levy and 5 cent for the Road Accident Fund levy).
