ActionSA blames DA for Joburg chaos

ActionSA in Gauteng believes that the DA is a provincial government that collapsed when former Mayor Mpho Phalatse left.

This follows the party's position of abstinence in the support of the motion of no confidence against City of Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero.
ActionSA’s provincial Chairperson Funzi Ngobeni said Johannesburg residents would now be enjoying benefits of good service delivery in the multi party government between the DA and ActionSA.
Phalatse was removed as mayor following a motion of no confidence in 2023 brought by the African Transformation Movement.
“When the PA asked for more recognition in the multi-party government, and the DA refused it was ActionSA that then offered two positions to ensure that we continue with that government," Ngobeni said.
He accused the DA of collapsing the government of Phalatse.
Ngobeni said it was surprising that the DA that refused a motion of no confidence against former mayor Kabelo Gwamanda and has now submitted one against Morero.
“So we will just abstain, we will not support them on this motion and we will just support our speaker and we hope other parties will get back to their senses and join in supporting the speaker,"
Ngobeni praised the Johannesburg council speaker Nobuhle Mthembu who is also facing a motion of no confidence by the DA on Thursday.
“This is a speaker that has worked, since she came to the office she has turned it around. You know when she ran the IDPs across the regions of the city, the DA did not attend," Ngoneni said.
He questioned the seriousness of the DA in the betterment of the city saying they have failed to participate in discussions and contributions of the city’s budget.
