The Johannesburg Society of Advocates have confirmed the retirement of Jeremy Gauntlett from the Bar.

Gauntlett is accused of sexually abusing Wits lecturer Hylton White when he was a teenager.
The JSA confirmed that an investigation is underway by its Professional and Fees Committee.
"The JSA confirms that it indicated, yesterday in a statement issued to its members, that the serious allegations regarding Gauntlett SC KC are being investigated by its Professional and Fees Committee"
"This remains an ongoing process. No further comment will be issued at this time. We reiterate our request that all concerned accept that due process must follow"
The claims come amid a tribunal hearing into allegations of sexual harassment against Eastern Cape Judge President Selby Mbenenge.
High Court Secretary Andiswa Mengo has accused Mbenenge of making unwelcome sexual advances towards her nearly two years ago.
The hearing is currently underway in Johannesburg.
