Alleged 7de Laan actor under police guard in hospital
A 50-year-old man was taken to hospital under police guard after he shot and killed his 29-year-old partner in Norkem Park on Thursday.
The arrest comes after police discovered the body of a 29-year-old man in a cottage on the property.
Upon arrival on the scene the man was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
“He was attested and taken to Tembisa Hospital after it was found he had taken an overdose of tablets”, says police spokesperson Barbara-Anne Ferreira.
The man is facing charges of murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
“It is believed the suspect was an actor who featured in a number of South African soap operas. The motive behind the murder will form part of a detailed police investigation.”
He is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
A statement will be released in due course.
