Fidelis Moema is accused of swindling over R16 million from KPMG, which was meant to fund the tertiary education of deserving students.

Moema and his two co-accused, Trevor Machimane and Tshwane metro police officer Lebohang Sigubudu, were granted R50,000 bail each.

It's alleged Moema processed these through 431 irregular transactions to a network of friends, family, and associates, between 2019 and 2022 when he worked as a bursary specialist for KPMG.

“Dikeledi Moema has been added as the fourth accused in the case against Fidelis Moema and two others. The matter has been remanded until the 31st of July 2024 when all four accused will be back in court as the matter was postponed for the state to disclose the content of the docket to the defence team,” said National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane.

The case was postponed to 31 July 2024, after Dikeledi Moema was granted R25,000 bail.

EXPENSIVE TRIPS AND DODGY PAYMENTS

On his now-deleted social media posts, the 32-year-old boasts a luxurious lifestyle of expensive trips, high-end cars, and fashion with his influencer girlfriend, Sthe Bhengu.

During bail proceedings in April, the court also heard that Moema had allegedly targeted his ex-girlfriends by asking them to register businesses under the pretext that he would help them apply for tenders, only to use their bank account to unlawfully transfer monies from KPMG.

It’s alleged Sigubudu recruited companies to receive payments from KPMG, despite not having done any business with the firm or being a bursary recipient. He then allegedly allowed them to keep a share before he took his cut and gave Moema the lion’s share.

Machimana allegedly received over R1 million from the alleged criminal activity, from which he reportedly paid Moema close to R900,000.
