ANC announces reconfigured Gauteng leadership
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
The ANC has announced a new task team to run its Gauteng structures as the party looks to claw back its electoral losses.

The reconfiguration comes after the party only managed 34% of the vote in the province during the 2024 general elections.
This forced the liberation movement to form a minority government in the country’s economic hub.
ANC veteran Amos Masondo has been appointed co-convener, along with Panyaza Lesufi, who was the chairperson of the ANC in Gauteng.
ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula briefed the media in Midrand on Wednesday.
"The reconfiguration process is not a departure from the ANC constitution but is, in fact, aligned with its provisions. The decision reflects the ANC’s commitment to constitutionalism and the rule of law.
"The immediate task in Gauteng is to rebuild ANC branches, leagues, and structures so that they are actively engaged in local development and responsive to the needs of communities,"
The newly reconfigured ANC Gauteng Provincial Task Team members are:
Provincial Convenor: Amos Masondo
Co-Provincial Convenor: Panyaza Lesufi
Deputy Provincial Convenor: Ntombi Mekgwe
Provincial Coordinator: Hope Papo
Provincial Deputy Coordinator: Nomantu Ralehoko-Nkomo
Provincial Fundraiser: Tasneem Motara
