The governing African National Congress (ANC) has welcomed
the measures put in place to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

This comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a National State of Disaster on Sunday evening.
By Sunday, a total of 61 South African have tested positive for coronavirus with the president warning that this number is expected to increase in the coming days and weeks.
In a statement, the ANC calls for mass education of all South Africans about the COVID-19 and how to prevent it from spreading.
The governing party also called for the expanding of surveillance to find, isolate and care for every case and to trace every contact.
The ANC said the fight against COVID 19 is not only Government's responsibility, but that of the whole of society.
"Similarly and as part of its ongoing efforts to mitigate against the spread of the global pandemic - COVID 19, the ANC has instructed all its structures across the length and breadth of the country to be part of this collective effort," said the party.
