ANC to lay charges against Steve Hofmeyr in Johannesburg

The African National Congress (ANC) has postponed it's initial plan to lay a charge of crimen injuria against Afrikaans singer Steve Hofmeyr today.

The ruling party says it has decided to postpone the process and lay the charge in Johannesburg on Monday.
ANC officials are currently in Cape Town, for tonight's official Opening of Parliament.
"We want to do it at the police station that is easily accessible to us at head office so that we are able to monitor the progress of the case," says Mabe.
Hofmeyr made violent threats against Democratic Alliance (DA) MP Phumzile van Damme and South Africa's ambassador to Denmark, Zindzi Mandela on social media on Tuesday.

The tweet sparked a firece debate around race relations in the country.
"We want to construct a country where everyone of our people could feel that they belong, regardless of the views they carry or may express," says Mabe.
