ANC: Monopoly capital must be dealt with
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
The African National Congress’ (ANC) Nathi Mthethwa says there have been extensive discussions on monopoly capital at the party’s national conference.

Mthethwa was providing feedback on the committee on organisational renewal.
Mthethwa says different ANC structures had time to discuss the concept of monopoly capital.
"How do we seek to formulate this conceptual issue which will synthesise strategy and tactics?"

He said the general view of delegates was that the ANC should focus on the content pf monopoly capital and make it clear that it must be done away with in South Africa.
Mthethwa says while the colonial nature cannot be denied, the ANC cannot only deal with white monopoly capital.
He says reports saying P.R firm Bell Pottinger came up with the concept are false, since the ANC had been discussing it long before it was unbanned.
