The African National Congress is mourning the loss of the former Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairperson, Professor Stan Sangweni who passed away on Tuesday.

He was appointed to the PSC in 1994 at the dawn of democracy.
The struggle stalwart also acted as director of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa from 1974 to 1981 based in Zambia.
He also served as the ANC spokesperson on Environmental affairs from 1981 to 1992.
"This stalwart of our movement spent 30 years in exile living in Holland, Swaziland, Zambia, Kenya, and Ethiopia. His house became home to many South African exile communities in Zambia and Kenya in the 1970s and 1980s. He provided shelter to the 1976 youth who chose to swell the ranks of the ANC,"

The party has described Sangweni as a committed cadre who served the movement till his last breath.
