Another earth tremor hits southern parts of Joburg

The Council of Geoscience has confirmed an earth tremor hit the south of Johannesburg on Wednesday evening.

A slight tremor hit parts of Gauteng late on Wednesday evening, the Council for Geoscience confirmed on Thursday.
Previously, a tremor hit the south of Joburg in July.
In a statement, the council said the tremor was located in the south of Johannesburg, west of Doornkop in Soweto.
"The earthquake registered a local magnitude of approximately 2.5 as recorded by the South African Seismograph Network," said Geoscience spokesperson Mahlatse Mononela.
The biggest quake originated from Boksburg on 10 June, which measured a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale.
