Another total shutdown in Vuwani
Updated | By Slindelo Masikane
The Pro Makhado Demarcation Task Team has confirmed that there is a total shutdown in the Vuwani area.

"No business are open, no schools are open, transportation has also been stopped. There is no movement here" says the task team's acting spokesperson Alex Ramashau.
Ramashau says they are shutting down Vuwani because the governmetn is not complying with the decision taken by President Jacob Zuma and local leadership in May this year.
Zuma met King Toni Mphephu Ramabulana of Vha-Venda, and other interested parties, to find amicable solutions to the Vuwani demarcation dispute.
The meeting accepted His Majesty's proposal that the Vhembe District Municipality should provide services to the people of Vuwani while a lasting solution to the demarcation issue is being sought.

Limpopo police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says police officials have been deployed and are patrolling the area.
"The police will not accept any lawlessness and intimidation. We have issued a warning that as much as those involved have a right to protest they must do so within the boundaries of the law" Mojapelo says.
