Bank clerk in court for alleged R25 million fraud

An Absa bank official from the Waterval Township in Limpopo appeared in the local Magistrates' Court on Monday for allegedly stealing R25 million from accounts belonging to the Provincial Government.

The 27-year-old Fhatuwani Sidwell Mudzanani, who was a consultant at Elim, allegedly deposited these amounts into different bank accounts linked to him.
Provincial Hawks spokesperson, Matimba Maluleke said Mudzanani was arrested at the bank on Friday.
"Mudzanani was remanded in custody until the 27 of July and police investigations are ongoing," said Maluleke.
