Beyond the Spotlight: Hezekiél Sepeng
Updated | By Gerda de Sousa
The moment Hezekiél Sepeng hanged up his spikes, he asked how he can plough back into athletics.

He was part of the first group of athletes to hail South Africa's return to the international stage after Apartheid.
Sepeng had the country at his fast running feet when he came second in the Olympic 800 metres final in Atlanta in 1996, the 1998 Commonwealth Games and the World Championships' final in Seville in 1999.
The man from Potchefstroom saw athletics enthusiasts sitting awake at all times of the night, cheering him on.
Sepeng was banned from competition from May 2005 to May 2007 after a positive doping test for nandrolone. But today he serves as an Excellence Manager for Athletics South Africa and gives advice to the younger generation who have their eyes set on the medals.
43-year old Sepeng says even though he still makes sure he stays healthy, his children are the cause of most of his running around.
How ironic, he says, that a little girl can bring a world class athlete to the realisation that he's actually out of shape!
