South Africa (BLSA) has congratulated former National Treasury director-general
Lungisa Fuzile on his appointment as the Chief Executive of Standard Bank.

BCC secretary general, George Sebulela says Fuzile's appointment is another example of black excellence.
''Mr Lungisa is a very sound financial guru ... and we hope his appointment in corporate South Africa will bring transformation both in Standard Bank and the financial sector as a whole''.

BLSA's Thebe Mabanga says even though Fuzile's appointment is a loss for the public sector, his skills retention in South Africa's financial sector is a big win.
''Fuzile's departure from the National Treasury represented a setback to South Africa’s civil service and the financial sector, so BLSA is therefore excited about the retention of his critical skill for the benefit of the South Africa’s financial services sector.''
Fuzile's appointment is effective from 15 January 2018.
He takes over from Sim Tshabalala, who served in the position since 2008.
