Gauteng police are investigating the death of an 11-year-old boy who earlier went missing in Fleurhof, west of Johannesburg.

The child, identified as Jayden Lee Meek, was reported missing on Tuesday afternoon after being dropped off by the scholar transport at his residential complex.
According to police, the mother was in the house, but the child never arrived home.
Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo said the child's body had visible bruises.
"They started searching for the child around, but they did not find him. This morning, one of the residents, around 6 am, saw the child lying not far from the flat where the child is staying.
"She called the security guard, and the child was taken to the hospital where he was certified dead on arrival.”
Masondo said the seasoned investigators have been assigned to the case.
"We will be obtaining statements from all the relevant people. This is a case that we take very seriously, and we believe that given a chance, we'll get to the bottom of it.
"An inquest can be changed into murder based on the evidence. So once we've got enough evidence that the child was murdered, we then open a case of murder," he added.
