The president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, has conveyed his condolences to the family of former Mamelodi Sundowns chair Angelo Tsichlas.

Motsepe, who owns Sundowns, said he was informed of Tsichlas's death Tuesday night by his wife, Natasha Tsichlas.
According to media reports, Tsichlas was killed in a car crash on Solomon Mahlangu Drive in Pretoria.
Motsepe described Tsichlas as a remarkable football executive and a close friend.
He said Tsichlas played a pivotal role in the development and growth of Mamelodi Sundowns.
“I extend my deepest condolences to Natasha and the entire Tsichlas family. Angelo, Natasha, and the Tsichlas family hold a special place in my heart, that of my family, and that of the entire Mamelodi Sundowns family,” said Motsepe.
“We will offer them our full support and comfort during this difficult time. Angelo and Natasha, alongside the Krok family and, before them, Zola Mahobe, played a pivotal role in the development and growth of Mamelodi Sundowns. We are infinitely grateful to them for laying the foundations for the club’s current success.”
Tsichlas ran Sundowns alongside his wife, Natasha Tsichlas, from the late 1980s and remained involved as partners when the football club was bought by present owner Motsepe in 2003.
