Calls for South Africans to join 'people's march' against Zuma

Civil society organisations are calling on South Africans to come out in their numbers and march to the Union Buildings on Friday.

Save South Africa, Corruption Watch, Treatment Action Campaign, OUTA, Lawyers for Human Rights, Section 27, Johannesburg Against Injustice and the National Religious Leaders' Council are all expected to take to the streets of Pretoria.
The march is expected to start at Church Square at 10am and will head to the Union Buildings at 12pm.
Section 27's Mark Heywood is encouraging South Africans from all walks of life to join the march.
"We encourage young people to join this march. We encourage people to come with children. We encourage disabled people to join the march. We encourage all concerned South Africans who can get to Church Square," said Heywood.
Heywood said the legal march will be peaceful.
Thousands of people are expected to march against President Jacob Zuma, calling for his resignation.
Heywood said the South African Communist Party (SACP) will joining their march, once they have handed over their memorandum to Treasury.
They will march from Marabastad to Church Square.
