Cash heist at OR Tambo Airport

The Hawks have confirmed there's been a robbery at OR Tambo International Airport.

Hawks spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi says a high level investigation is underway.
"We can confirm the robbery at OR Tambo. We are not in a position to give further details of what transpired pending the investigation," Mulaudzi says.
He confirms money had been stolen.
"As to how much was taken and the currency of the money, that is subject to an investigation."
Airports Company South Africa spokesperson Trevor Jones also confirmed the robbery which happened at 19:45 on Tuesday, but was unable to provide any further details at this stage.
There are reports that R24million had been stolen from a plane.
"No shots were fired and no injuries have been reported," Acsa says in a statement.
