Police say cash-in-transit robbers hit two vans near Marikana in the North West on Thursday night.

A manhunt has been launched for the group after they fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
Armed men fired multiple shots at the two cash vans traveling on the N4 between Buffelspoort and Marikana.

"Shots were fired at the vehicles causing them to veer off the road," says police spokesperson, Vishnu Naidoo.
A 72-hour action plan has been initiated to arrest the perpetrators.
This week alone, police foiled two other cash heists.
Naidoo says four suspects were arrested in Senekal in the Free Sate and in Ngcobo in the Eastern Cape respectively.
