Cash-in-transit robbers hit Krugersdorp filling station

A group of cash-in-transit
suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of money after accosting security
guards in Krugersdorp on Monday.

Police spokesperson Appel Ernst says the suspects ambushed a G4S security vehicle while it was collecting cash at a Shell Garage.
"The crew alighted and fetched a money bag inside the business. When exiting the business, he was allegedly confronted by five unknown males, some armed with pistols and a rifle," says Ernst.
The men suspects opened fire and fled with a bag of cash.
"The suspects fled in a white Toyota Double Cab and drove off towards Paardekraal road in Krugersdorp."
Ernst says a discarded moneybag was later found near Yusuf Dadoo Hospital.
No injuries were reported and police are hunting for the suspects.
