The Bheki Mlangeni Hospital in Soweto has temporarily closed its doors due to a fire which broke out in the administration area on Monday morning.

Nobody was injured during the fire.
Spokesperson for the Gauteng Department of Health Lesemang Matuka says staff members alerted the police and fire department after seeing smoke billowing out of the admin block.
"The fire department were also called and they responded immediately and managed to extinguish the fire. The fire was controlled around 8:00 and only HR office was affected."
Patients have since been moved to various other hospitals.
"The smoke that was spreading throughout the hospital led to the immediate evacuation of patients and all staff members,” says Matuka.
"All patients in the hospital were safely evacuated and some have already been transported to facilities such as Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, Southrand Hospital, Rahima Mother and Child, Sterkforntein and Lenasia South District Hospital.”
Matuka says the cause of the fire is not yet known.
"The cause of the fire is still unknown at this juncture, full investigation and assessment of the damage will be done by the relevant authorities."
The hospital will remain closed until the smoke has cleared.
