Police Minister Bheki Cele has given his full backing to the cops involved in this week’s shooting at Misty Hills Country Hotel in Muldersdrift.

Len Cloete was shot in the head at close range during an altercation with five police officers.
The cops were called out after was allegedly asked to leave the premises by the lodge management.
In a video that’s gone viral, a half-naked Cloete could be seen shouting and swearing at the police before being shot in the head.
He also allegedly disarmed an officer.
“We need to understand that we police people who are dangerous in society, that guy is dangerous in society. I have congratulated those officers for staying within the law. That guy cocked the gun twice before he grabbed a gun from the officer.
“Those officers could have been killed including the staff at that lodge. We almost lost five police officers including the staff at the lodge,” said Cele.
He said while police must be trained to act with restraint when responding to such situations, they should also be alert.
