Cele to visit Soweto after 15 killed in tavern shooting
Police Minister Bheki Cele is expected to visit the scene of a deadly tavern shooting which claimed the lives of 15 people in Nomzamo Park on Sunday.
In a separate incident, four people died in similar circumstances in Pietermaritzburg.
On Friday two people were also killed in a similar shooting attack at a tavern in Katlehong on the East Rand on Friday night.
Cele is expected to meet with police top brass during his visit to Soweto.
The visit comes amid increasing pressure on Cele following a sharp increase in the number of murders in the country.
Last week the minister was involved in a heated exchange of words with an anti-crime activist Ian Cameron at a crime prevention meeting in Gugulethu, Cape Town.
The tavern shootings come hot on the heels of the mysterious deaths of 21 young people at a tavern in East London last month.
