A City Power employee, a contractor and three other men have been arrested for alleged cable theft and vandalism.

The staff member was arrested at City Power's head office in Booysens on Tuesday.
He is alleged to have stolen copper pipes from scrap metal dealers under the guise of returning them to City Power premises.
On Wednesday, an employee of one of the service providers responsible for maintenance was found in possession of copper metals.
City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena says the three other suspects were also arrested in the Booysens area.
The three men, who are in their thirties, were found digging and laying aluminium cable from a pole.
"They were caught in possession of a stepladder, 6m cable, spade and cutting tools (infrastructure damaging implements). The three have been charged with tampering with essential infrastructure and illegal connections".
The arrested group joins 16 others, including other City Power employees, who were nabbed over the past weekend for the same crime.
