The City of Tshwane says a team of technicians is working tirelessly to restore power to the affected parts of Atteridgeville.
The City's Acting Executive Mayor, in his capacity as MMC for Utility Services, Abel Tau says the extended power outage was caused by a medium voltage switchgear failure at the substation.
"The switchgear panels faulted due to voltage flashover in the busbars chamber. The faulted switchgear was initially cleaned and repaired but failed confirmatory tests earlier today."
