A verbal spat in a Free State classroom turned into much more - with classmates watching two boys falling to the ground, one of them kicking and punching the other.

In the footage, one of the boys is seen grabbing another before dragging him to the floor and beating him up. The teacher emerges later, screaming at them to stop.
In an exclusive interview with Jacaranda FM News, the school principal confirmed that the incident happened yesterday.
The principal says the school's governing body is currently attending to the matter via the school's disciplinary committee.

He adds that none of the boys have been suspended over this incident, however disciplinary action would be taken according to the school's code of conduct.
Jacaranda FM News has tried to contact the provincial education department for comment without success.
This is a developing story.
