Coligny murderers to be sentenced in 2019
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Two Coligny men who were found guilty for the murder of 16-year-old Matlhomola Moshoeu will only be sentenced in 2019.

Pieter Doorewaard and Phillip Schutte were found guilty for the murder of Moshoeu on Wednesday, when sentencing was passed down in the North West High Court by Judge Ronald Hendricks.
They duo were also found guilty on other counts, which include kidnapping, theft and pointing of the firearm.
“Today the sentencing did not proceed because the defense lawyers asked for a postponement that they want to apply for a pre-sentence report.
“The matter was postponed from 28-31 January 2019. Those days will be set aside for mitigation on sentence by the defense lawyer as well as the sentence; then the court will definitely give out a sentence,” says the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Tembeka Mdabu.
Schutte and Doorewaard will remain behind bars.
The judgement has been widely welcomed by the public and various political formations.
The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the North West has called for the pair to be handed life sentences.
