The South African Weather Service has cautioned that a cold front is expected to approach the coast, bringing an increased risk of light rain and gusty winds by late afternoon, with winds reaching up to 40 km/h along the beachfront.
The Transport and Human Settlements provincial spokesperson, Ndabezitha Sibiya, said his team is in a state of readiness and prepared to respond with speed to any emergency following the weather patterns.
“With SA Weather Services having alerted us about a cut-off-low press system which will trigger snowfall and heavy rainfall, our highly efficient team from the Road Traffic Inspectorate is stationed on major routes to ensure the free traffic flow,” said Sibiya.
Meanwhile, the Prisons and Civil Rights Union has extended strength and solidarity to all law enforcement officers who will be participating in the Marathon.
