Cop and four others arrested with fake money
Updated | By ANA
Constable Winners Mashaba, 29, a contable at the Namakgale police station, and his alleged accomplices, Mmola Ngoako, 30, Ntshepeng Segage, 31, Vuyisa Sobuswa, 50, and Xoliswa Nkabi, 41, were nabbed last week Thursday and appeared briefly in court on Monday.

The five were travelling in a car in Lebowakgomo when officers pulled them over after receiving a tip-off about the counterfeit money.
“Upon searching the suspects a schoolbag containing R3 million in counterfeit R100 notes was found with one of the female suspects who quickly confessed that the money belonged to all of them as they were on their way to share their loot,” Hawks spokesman Robert Netshiunda said.
Police have instituted internal disciplinary processes against Mashaba, Netshiunda said.
Mashaba and his alleged accomplices will make a formal bail application on January 20.
