Cope to lay criminal charges against Dudu Myeni
Updated | By Karabo Tebele
The Congress of the People (Cope) says it is concerned about the safety and anonymity of whistle-blowers at the commission of inquiry into state capture.

The party is set to lay criminal charges against former South African Airways (SAA) chair Dudu Myeni in Pretoria on Sunday after she revealed the identity of a protected witness at the commission.
The witness was previously only known as “Mr. X”.
Cope spokesperson Dennis Bloem believes Myeni’s actions will deter other whistle-blowers from coming forward with information.
“Dudu Myeni shows complete disrespect for the commission and irresponsible actions will scare off other whistle-blowers who wants to come forward and give information to the commission.
“Her actions put the life of ‘Mr X’ and his family in danger. Nobody is above the law and the law must take its course.
“Cope will lay criminal charges against Dudu Myeni for naming a whistle-blower at the Zondo commission, when she was clearly warned not to do so and this is a very serious violation and a criminal act.”
